  • EFFICOMP in ILA Berlin Air Show 2018

    EFFICOMP is glad to announce its participation at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2018 to be held in Berlin, Germany, from 25th to 29th of April 2018. EFFICOMP’s presence will be hosted by European Commission in Hall 2 – Stand 304.


  • EFFICOMP 24th Month Meeting in Braunschweig (DE)

    The 24th Month Progress Meeting of EFFICOMP will take place on April 9th-10th, 2017 at the DRL facilities in Braunschweig, Germany.

  • EFFICOMP @ the 7th EASN International Conference

    The EFFICOM project is glad to announce its strong participation in the 7th EASN International Conference on Innovation in European Aeronautics Research. More specifically, a dedicated EFFICOMP session has been scheduled, during the event, on September 26th 2017 at the Conference Centre of the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw, Poland (Room: BRAVO), from 15:10 until 16:30 and it will be chaired by the EFFICOMP Coordinator, Dr. Jacques Cinquin from AIRBUS Group Innovation. 

    Over the years the EASN conference has been established as a major European Dissemination event. The 6th international gathering of the EASN Association was attended by more than 220 researchers from various disciplines who presented their high quality recent achievements and new upstream research ideas. The conference will include Plenary Talks by renowned guests and Roundtable Discussions with key-figures from the academia, industry, research community and policy makers.

    The EFFICOMP project will present its current progress and upcoming results through the following presentations:

    1. Assessment of Hybrid Heating for Curing of CFRP Structures (Philipp Hilmer),

    2. Development of new processes for aerospace structural composite part manufacturing with affordable cost and high ramp up capability within EFFICOMP project (Jacques Cinquin, Patrice Lefebure),

    3. Investigation of a new out of autoclave placement process, mould concepts/release strategies and reusable heated bagging material (Klaus Heudorfer, Mathias Engelfried, Julian Fial, Stefan Carosella, Peter Middendor) and

    4. Investigation on Energy Director-less Ultrasonic Welding of Thermoplastic to Thermoset Composites (Eirini Tsiangou).

  • 1st Progress Meeting

    The first EFFICOMP progress meeting, marking the end of the first semester, will take place on October 11th-12th, 2016 at the Institute of Aircraft Design, at the University of Stuttgart. Only the Europeans partners of the project will be attending this meeting.


    Officially launched

    Efficient Composite Parts Manufacturing (EFFICOMP) held its kick-off meeting on April 11th-12th, 2016 at the Airbus Group facilities in Suresnes (Paris), France. The involved organizations from both Europe and Japan were present at this two-day event, which was an opportunity for a thorough presentation of each partner's background expertise, facilities, role in the project and intended methodologies to be followed. Furthermore, a presentation from the Project Officer was introduced by the coordinator. Further actions upon the scheduling and requirements of activities, materials, etc. were discussed and agreed among all partners.

    Shortly before the official launch of the project, EFFICOMP was briefly introduced to the European Aeronautics Community through the periodic newsletters of the EASN Association. Read the publication here.
