  • The January 2019 edition of the EASN Newsletter is out including EFFICOMP latest news

    The latest news and activities of the EFFICOMP project were presented to the European Aeronautics Science Network through the January edition of the EASN Newsletter which is distributed to approximately 15000 scientists, policy makers and key players in the European Aeronautics industry.
    “The EFFICOMP project is now close to the end of its three-year lifetime and so far all planned activities are running as initially foreseen in the project roadmap, while all important milestones have already been achieved. During the EFFICOMP M33 Progress Meeting, which took place on 17th of January 2018, the main scientific results and technical achievements as well as the overall progress of the EFFICOMP project were presented and discussed among the partners.”

  • EFFICOMP dedicated Session @ the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop

    The EFFICOMP project is pleased to announce its participation in the 8th EASN-CEAS International Workshop on “Manufacturing for Growth & Innovation”, which will take place between 04 and 07 September, 2018 at the University of Glasgow, UK . Over the years the EASN conference has been established as a major European Dissemination event. The 7th international gathering of the EASN Association was attended by approximately 400 researchers from various disciplines who presented their high quality recent achievements and new upstream research ideas.

    We will be glad to welcome you in our EFFICOMP dedicated session which will take place all allong with the  ECO-COMPASS project on the 6th of September, 2018 at Sir Charles Wilson building, Lecture Theatre, from 10:40 until 13:00. The session will be co-chaired by Patrice Lefebure (AIRBUS / EFFICOMP) and Jens Bachmann (DLR / ECO-COMPASS). Our current progress and upcoming results will be introduced through the following presentations:

    • Development of Innovative Curing Technologies within H2020 EFFICOMP Project, for Manufacture of HIG Performance CFRC Parts - P. Lefébure, J. Cinquin
    • Characterisation of the forming properties of wide unidirectional prepreg tapes using the advanced Ply Placement (APP) Process - K. Heudorfer, M. Engelfried, J. Fial, S. Carosella, P. Middendorf
    • Investigation on ultrasonic welding of CF/epoxy and CF/PEEK composites - E. Tsiangou, S. Teixeira de Freitas, I. Fernandez Villegas and R. Benedictus 
    • Assessment of manufacturing a leading edge using hybrid heating -  P. Hilmer, A. Lami, M. Buggisch

  • EFFICOMP in ILA Berlin Air Show 2018

    EFFICOMP is glad to announce its participation at the ILA Berlin Air Show 2018 to be held in Berlin, Germany, from 25th to 29th of April 2018. EFFICOMP’s presence will be hosted by European Commission in Hall 2 – Stand 304.

     

  • EFFICOMP 24th Month Meeting in Braunschweig (DE)

    The 24th Month Progress Meeting of EFFICOMP will take place on April 9th-10th, 2017 at the DRL facilities in Braunschweig, Germany.

  • EFFICOMP @ the 7th EASN International Conference

    The EFFICOM project is glad to announce its strong participation in the 7th EASN International Conference on Innovation in European Aeronautics Research. More specifically, a dedicated EFFICOMP session has been scheduled, during the event, on September 26th 2017 at the Conference Centre of the Institute of Aviation in Warsaw, Poland (Room: BRAVO), from 15:10 until 16:30 and it will be chaired by the EFFICOMP Coordinator, Dr. Jacques Cinquin from AIRBUS Group Innovation. 

    Over the years the EASN conference has been established as a major European Dissemination event. The 6th international gathering of the EASN Association was attended by more than 220 researchers from various disciplines who presented their high quality recent achievements and new upstream research ideas. The conference will include Plenary Talks by renowned guests and Roundtable Discussions with key-figures from the academia, industry, research community and policy makers.

    The EFFICOMP project will present its current progress and upcoming results through the following presentations:

    1. Assessment of Hybrid Heating for Curing of CFRP Structures (Philipp Hilmer),

    2. Development of new processes for aerospace structural composite part manufacturing with affordable cost and high ramp up capability within EFFICOMP project (Jacques Cinquin, Patrice Lefebure),

    3. Investigation of a new out of autoclave placement process, mould concepts/release strategies and reusable heated bagging material (Klaus Heudorfer, Mathias Engelfried, Julian Fial, Stefan Carosella, Peter Middendor) and

    4. Investigation on Energy Director-less Ultrasonic Welding of Thermoplastic to Thermoset Composites (Eirini Tsiangou).

  • 1st Progress Meeting

    The first EFFICOMP progress meeting, marking the end of the first semester, will take place on October 11th-12th, 2016 at the Institute of Aircraft Design, at the University of Stuttgart. Only the Europeans partners of the project will be attending this meeting.
